Unico IDCloud is Unico's secure authentication platform. With a hierarchical architecture of capabilities and technologies, we can consistently validate:
Liveness: With just a selfie, we determine whether the face is alive at the moment of a biometric transaction, preventing image-based attacks.Behavior
Alert: We verify whether a face exhibits suspicious behavior, meaning it has been previously detected attempting identity fraud within Unico’s operations.
1:1 Validation: In transactions—after onboarding into our solution—we can confirm whether the face matches the one registered during onboarding in just one second.
All these responses are returned together, ensuring continuous identity behavior analysis for your users and allowing your company to constantly evaluate the business relationship you want to maintain with them throughout their journey.
Unico’s Liveness is an innovative solution in the market, orchestrating third-party and proprietary liveness engines to ensure that our clients always operate with the most secure solution (zero FAR) while maintaining the best user experience, ensuring optimal conversion rates for biometric transactions.
Currently, market-standard liveness check providers experience a transaction drop rate of approximately 15%. With Unico’s Liveness, a capability integrated into the Unico IDCloud platform, we reduce this drop rate to less than 4% while maintaining the same level of security for our clients.
Through liveness detection, we can prevent image attacks, such as injections, deepfakes, and spoofing, and respond to new fraudster techniques four times faster than other providers.
Yes, biometric verification with Unico is mandatory because it is the only way to ensure the necessary security to combat fraud. This security is directly linked to our liveness check.
Through a series of internal rules, we validate whether the face attempting onboarding or a transaction with your company has previously engaged in suspicious activities (e.g., used another SSN) or is definitively untrustworthy—meaning they exhibit the behavior of an identity fraudster.
With recurring face occurrences in Unico’s database, our algorithms continuously improve, providing greater accuracy in identifying real fraudsters.
During the first verification in our solution, we capture the user’s face and generate a unique hash, meaning a number that belongs exclusively to that face. This hash is compared to the face used in any subsequent interaction with your company (e.g., a new credit request). This process allows us to confirm whether it is the same person who was onboarded or not.
At this moment, in addition to verifying if it is the same person, we also return a new Behavior Alert response—indicating whether that individual has engaged in fraudulent activity. This enables you to track any changes in user behavior and decide whether to continue doing business with them.
Implementation is done via an API that calls our SDK and returns the outputs of all Unico IDCloud capabilities in a single request. Our onboarding team is responsible for project setup and monitoring the entire implementation process until our clients achieve full operational success.
After the initial (first) biometric verification in Unico IDCloud (onboarding into our solution), you will receive:
Liveness result (Live or Not Live)
Behavior Alert result (Suspicious or Inconclusive)
For subsequent verifications, in addition to these two responses, you will also receive:
1:1 Validation result (Yes or No)
